Our story

The story behind Pasteles de Abuela Lucy 🇵🇷

Some recipes are more than just food. They carry memories, family, culture, and a little piece of home.

For me, that recipe is my grandma Lucy's pasteles.

Pasteles have always been a special part of Puerto Rican food and tradition. They're the kind of food that brings everyone together around the table, especially during the holidays and family gatherings. Growing up with this recipe, I learned that making pasteles isn't something you can rush. It takes time, patience, and a whole lot of love.

Our pasteles are made with a flavorful masa of plantain, yuca, and pumpkin, seasoned with sofrito and achiote oil. They're filled with your choice of tender pork or chicken, along with the flavors that make a Puerto Rican pastel taste like home.

This recipe comes from my grandma Lucy, and bringing it to you means more to me than simply selling food. It's a way for me to keep a family tradition going and share a little piece of where we come from with others.

Every pastel is made with the same care and love that has been passed down through our family. Whether you grew up eating Puerto Rican pasteles or you've never had one before, I hope that when you take that first bite, you taste more than just the food.

I hope you taste the tradition.

I hope you taste the love.

And most of all, I hope it feels a little like home.

From Abuela Lucy's kitchen to your home, thank you for letting us share a piece of our family with yours.
